DESCRIPTION
My second year project is a civic hall for the Marina borough in Cagliari, Sardinia. The vicinity to St. Eulalia church with its archaeological remains suggested to excavate the project site in order to include an open air museum on the underground level. A continuous visual relation with the archeology throughout the whole building is one of the key features of the project. The museum level is overlooked by the public square on the ground floor and during the ascent on the suspended staircase. The civic hall on the top level also overlooks the square and the church through the elaborated Cor-Ten filter.
