DESCRIPTION
The goal of this project was to reconnect the remains of the medieval castle of Acquafredda in Siliqua (Sardinia, Italy) with its surrounding landscape. We redesigned the pathway starting from the ruins of the ancient village and going up following the remains of the wall, culminating on the top of the rocky hill with a bridge that binds together the observing tower with the castle. The new volumes are clinging onto the site’s wounds and emphasize the anticipation of the castle, hidden by the trees throughout the ascent.
